Mixing the past with the present, the nostalgic and the modern, is 2021-22 Donruss Elite Basketball.
Card styles for the 2021-22 Donruss Elite Basketball will lean toward both an ’80s and ’90s feel as well as modern day card aesthetics. Expect die-cuts, acetate and lenticular cards amongst the checklist in addition to perennials.
A pair of autographs and many inserts and parallels will be feature in the return release of the standard Hobby set, eschewing the more recent online-only releases for the Elite NBA card editions.
The base set minimally features players within solo action shots. Short prints go to the Rookies, landing two per hobby box, in 1:10 packs expected.
Parallels make up eight per hobby box with die-cut cards, perennial Status and Aspirations to be found along with the “one-of-a-kind” Base Elite as a new and colorful addition.
2021-22 Donruss Elite Basketball Autographs
Elite Signatures grabs veterans and past stars while Rookies are found in the returning Pen Pals and the debut of Instant Impressions and Rookie Yearbook Autographs.
Also returning are the Passing the Torch Signatures, a cornerstone of the Elite brand, featuring a pair of autographs but this year both on the front of the card. Previously, these cards were a double-sided design. The two signatures are from a top NBA name paired with an incoming Rookie.
2021-22 Donruss Elite Basketball Inserts
A further eight cards per box are found via inserts, with many sets making their debut this year.
Look for a pair of acetate chase sets, Clarity and Deck, that mimic normal playing cards. Rare super short print 3D inserts can be found along with lenticular Dimensions, Next Up and Past & Present sets. We don’t know the odds for these yet.
