Billed as “Far more than a sports card show” the inaugural Mint Collective kicks off in Las Vegas this week!
Featuring panels with some of the biggest names in the hobby the Mint Collective is setting itself up as a major player in the sports card event space. Both Grayson White (owner, Cherry) and Charlie Oxley (marketing and content, Cherry) are heading over from Australia for the event and they've listed the things they're most excited to see at the show.
Friday, March 25th
Local Card Shop Owners Cocktail Party - any chance to talk to other card shop owners is a golden opportunity especially when it features Rob Veres, owner of Burbank Sports Cards! This will be our chance to talk the gold standard in terms of in store experiences, fulfilment and storage of inventory.
Saturday, March 26th
9:45AM-11AM – Opening Keynote: A New Hobby Era? How & Why Billions are Flowing In
This is one of the most important sessions to get to because the panel is so huge! Featuring Josh Luber (Fanatics) and Bob Means (eBay) as well as other titans, this is where we hope to discover a bit of what's in store for cards.
11:30AM-12:30PM – The Future of: Authentication and Grading
Grading has exploded in the past 3 years and the big grading companies are only just coming to grips with the volume of work collectors are asking them to do. With representatives from BGS, PSA, CSG and more its going to be great to hear how they've dealt with the backlog and how they intend to scale to meet future demand.
2:30-3:30PM – The Future of: The Card Shop (by Card Ladder)
This one is particularly interesting because our own Grayson White is part of the panel! Cherry has grown despite the pandemic but how did it happen in Melbourne, one of the most locked down cities in the world? I know Grayson is keen to ask his peers on the panel what they've been doing too.
Sunday, March 27th
9AM- 10AM – The Future of: Sports Memorabilia & Storytelling
Any card panel with Brian Gray is going to be interesting because he's a hobby legend who always keeps it real. With other panelists like Ray Schulte and Steve Grad this is going to be full of wisdom.
10:30AM-11:30AM – The Power of: Creating Authentic Content (by Card Ladder)
One of the things Cherry has managed to harness is content creation but what else could we be doing? With Rip Pack Slab, Sports Card Nonsense and Jeremy Lee hosting, I'm hoping to pick up some tips for future growth.
In addition to the huge panels theres a card marketplace and extra events like the Collector's Carnival. If you're a collector and you're in the area this week you really should get along.
