When Upper Deck calls you answer, right? Well, thats what happened in early September when Upper Deck reached out to Cherry to organise a special Hockey Night for NHL collectors in Australia.

With the NHL visiting Melbourne for the Global Games, Upper Deck also wanted to help local collectors of NHL cards get the most of the weekend so a plan was hatched to run a special night of cards, food, breaks and giveaways at Cherry's flagship store in West Melbourne.

After much organising between Australia and the USA we managed to put together a fantastic evening where almost 40 of Australia's biggest NHL collectors were able to come together, eat, drink and talk hockey as well as get some great NHL cards from Upper Deck.

The night kicked off with collectors arriving to the Cherry store on Batman street and getting treated to a special giveaway bag from Upper Deck then it was time for pizza.

After that Blake was joined by Paul from Upper Deck for a huge break of new NHL cards where every card in the break was given away in store so everyone left the night with a big stack of cards for their team.

Finally, a couple of incredible Upper Deck authenticated Quinton Byfield memorabilia pieces were raffled off to the lucky people in store with those items going to some very appreciative collectors!

After all that the night was wrapped up with every one going home with awesome cards and excited for the weekend's NHL games at Rod Laver arena.

Should we do another one next year if the Global Games return?
